Race Season 2011
The 2011 season will soon be here. That means a lot of planning and turning wrenches in preparation for the start of the season.
This season Faith on Wheels Racing (FOWR) is branching out to the local dirt track. I’ve raced on and off at Shippensburg Speedway for the past two and a half years, but not under the FOWR banner. This year though I am adding it to our ministry.
My good friends, Brian and Christine Hinebaugh, have been nice enough to allow me to keep my micro sprint at their house, and Brian has been doing a lot of work on it helping me get ready for this year. The first event for the micro sprint will be the Chambersburg Mall Race Car Show being held February 5 – 12.
Now on to motorcycle related plans. Last season FOWR raced 3 rounds of the WERA National endurance series in the Light Weight Superbike class, and taking our first ever endurance win. We had 1 did not finish, but ended the year on a high with a second place finish. In 2011, FOWR will be competing in selected WERA National endurance races, racing a vintage 1995 Kawasaki ZX6R in the trophy class. I don’t want us to worry about where we finish, I want us to be a good witnesses for Christ.
Last year also marked a first for me; I led four chapel services at four WERA Northeast regional races; two at Nelson Ledges in Ohio and two at Beaver Run in Pennsylvania. I plan on doing the same this coming season. I would like to thank those who attended those services. I will also be defending my vintage 7 Heavy Weight National Championship on the 1995 Kawasaki ZX7/9. I will be attending most of the WERA Northeast Regional weekends.
In closing I would like to say that I’m really looking forward to this coming year. I just pray that I can do as good a job as my best friend, Wayne Lowery, did running this team. I also pray that through this ministry I can glorify God.
In His service,
Lance Yeager
